FREE PARKING!

Surely the best bit of the show! The venue is
upstairs at The Duke Of Beaufort Public House,
opposite "The Pepper Pot" on Queens Park Road.
There are no parking restrictions around Muesli
Mountain and Hanover/ Southover Street side of
the pub, but I would recommend arriving by
Zeppelin or Stannah Stairlift as it's up a big hill.

There is also an area upstairs to put prams so that
they don't get clamped and towed away if left
outside by our reasonable local authority.
Sit back, relax and don't fret!

That's my job!! The pub quizz swizz is designed
not to tax any brain cells, and knowledge can hold
you back in this show. It's adults vs children, with
different questions, tasks, and lunacy for each
team. You can also bring your own question to get
extra points in the "Ask Boris McSquirter" round! If
you don't want to participate, bring a book! It's my
job to tire the children out so you can have a
peaceful evening when they crash out early at
home. Where's my O.B.E for outstanding services
to the wine growers association for sales to lucky
parents? Need tickets? Just look below.

Disclaimers, small print.
Right of entry reserved. Full public liability insurance
provided by Equity actors union. All electrical items

Certificated by a qualified electrician, and are in date.
If the bouncy castle is used, it is separately insured
and complies with safety limits imposed on it when
used at a licenced premises. All are available for
inspection upon request. Why is the serious stuff all
ways in italics at the bottom?
Astounding entertainment!

The quizz is a big party show, and will be the ideal
place for your family to learn in an informal manner
about a broad range of sounds in the music
rounds! Who can stay awake the longest as I play
the full version of The Orb's "Blue Room?" Which
team can recreate "Dark Side Of The Moon" with
the items found in a local skip? And watch as your
children lose the will to live as their eyes gloss
over at the extreme low-tech disco set-up as you
still refuse to give them their Nintendo DSi back.
Let's teach the kids nothing!
Win prizes! Balloons! & Magic!

Unbelievably, everybody will get a prize at the Pub
Quizz Swizz, be it a packet of Smart Price
cup-a-soup, a sculptured balloon of Junction 7 of
the M23,  or even something else of nominal value
that I might get out of the Friday-Ad or a boot sale
between now and then. It's a shocking act of
generosity on my behalf, but after the row I had
with trading standards about the million pound
giveaway (a lucky dip lottery ticket), you get
something to treasure from the afternoon that will
last for a couple of hours before it gets broken.
What is this nonsense all about?
Join Allen Key ("We put all of the pieces of the
entertainment together for you"), Brighton's 8th
best children entertainer Tommy Tickle & his tone
deaf musicmeister DJ Bubblewrap and the Dinky
Disco for the Brighton Fringe Festival "The Pub
Quizz Swizz". It's an entertainment show mixing
my successful children's party act that adults find
funny too, with the world's most bizarre  quizz
linked into it - think of
Shooting Stars meets The
Simpsons
with a bit of Antiques Roadshow thrown
in. If you don't like those things, think of
Cagney &
Lacey
meets TISWAS, with a bit of When The Boat
Comes In
thrown out for good measure.

When and where is it?
It's upstairs at the Duke Of Beaufort, Queens Park
Road, Brighton.  There will  be a separate bar
upstairs for the event serving adult and children's
drinks, and the kitchen will be open too and we will
be able to serve food in the interval. Have a look at
the menu below, you can order in advance. We
have averaged 50 people per show so far, so if you
get there a bit earlier, you can get served first!
The performance times are 3.00 - 5.00 pm.
Get tickets from the Brighton Fringe website, or
down below for slightly better deals.
Saturday May 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd.
Sunday   May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd.
Happy Hour during the show!

Being a parent costs an arm and a leg as it is, so
the wonderful management at The Beaufort have a
lot of pints at £2.50 each (available only at the
downstairs bar, everything else is available
upstairs).  Reflecting the prices in 2004, that is also
where the majority of the material from the act
comes from.
There are also separate children/parent only toilets
upstairs for the show, and there is space for the
children to have dance about and play music
based games with DJ Bubblewrap.
Special Meal Deal At The Duke Of Beaufort!

Raj and his talented chefs have offered a cracking cheap alternative to the traditional Sunday roast. When the shows are on, you can
order the following that are special priced items when the show is only on;

Really mild child Korma chicken/ lamb dish or vege option       £2.50    Adult size Korma chicken/ lamb or vege option     £4.00

Welcome to Tommy Tickle's Pub Quizz Swizz at The Duke Of Beaufort with The Brighton Fringe Festival
Images in this column are from some of this years' Fringe
Festival shows. Copyright Lucy Robinson 2010. This young
pink haired girl undergoes a traumatic magic trick with DJ
Bubblewrap. Doctors say she will be out of intensive care on
the 12th of never.
DJ Bubblewrap lives up to his name, by turning on a
machine that gives so much excitement to the younger
generation; a television, that's currently out of shot.
Fun fun fun with Tommy Tickle as children get to draw his
stupid clown face on all over his chops. Look at happy
child's face compared to the one of pain on the clowns due
to the fact the lipstick was running on the very sharp plastic
rim of the holder. The child had actually written "Travelling
Charlatan" on Tickle's forehead, and received a standing
ovation from the board at the local Trading Standards office.
Three out of four generations of family are entertained at
the same time, proving Tommy Tickle's an all-rounder.
Although "Pilsbury", the baby in the foreground, seems to
be on the same plane of existence as his lunatic
great-grandmother "Crazy Daisy" at the back who later had
to be removed from the show for safety reasons. Drunken
nudity is never acceptable in a pub. The mum, "Flower
Power Hippyshake McNuggets Smith" forgot the baby after
the show as she was too busy playing on-line bingo on her
mobile phone. Pilsbury is now being well looked after by a
family that purchased him from me on eBay.
Kids look really happy as the show nears it's end, and they
can finally see the exit door slowly being lit up and they will
soon be free to run into the arms of trained therapists who
comfort all people who come to the show.
DJ Bubblewrap still picking on the poor hapless teenager
from the audience, offered as a sacrifice by other ticket
holders in a vain hope that they wouldn't be picked. In the
end, everybody was picked and no-one is the same now.
It's over now, I'm afraid! A large fank oo to everybody who turned up and made the show what it was...rubbish. I
blame the audiences. 8 shows. Four sold out. Two half full, and two completely empty because of fantastic
weather and larger events going on in a park across town. Not bad for a first time venture, one that will definitely
be repeated next year! See you at the 2011 Brighton Fringe.
